Wisconsin’s state-local tax burden declined to 16th highest in U.S.

New information released by the U.S. Census Bureau indicates Wisconsin’s state-local tax burden declined from 15th highest among the states in 2013 to 16th for 2014, according to the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance (WISTAX), a public policy research group in Madison.

Wisconsin taxes dropped from 10.9 percent of personal income in 2013 to 10.8 percent in 2014, figures showed.
